No more #SxSW excuses.
After sitting through 5+ years of seeing people shit themselves over how amazing South by Southwest is, a buddy of mine and I have decided to force our own hands.
We’re going in 2011, book it world.
That being said, what are two dudes to do to prepare for this? Is it foolish / illogical to start looking into places to stay now? Well too bad, because we are.
Obviously the content of what I’m going to see won’t be known for many months, but I’ve no doubt there will be another plethora of great talks mixed in with some less-than-stellar ones.
Besides the great content to be heard, I also really want to experience the networking possibilities of so many hipsters with iPhones in such a small area. My first thought is that it’s astronomical. But, on a more realistic scale, I’m sure it’s not, but I would imagine it presents lots of nice opportunities to meet some of the web experts that I’ve only stalked from afar via IP address.
Plus, there’s also the music–an awesome array of indie tunes that would (or perhaps should) be enough to get me there as is. I guess Austin is a bit famous for food too. And there’s tons of fantabulous parties. Or at least that’s what I’ve heard.
Only 344~ days and counting, right?
